Want to be a princess for the day or as Baby Girl would say, “Me princess everyday!” Ellie and Mac has released this new adorable off the shoulder top or dress sewing pattern, Summer Love. It is perfect piece for summer. Even though summer is technically not here yet, our 90 degree temps are here already.

I was not sure how Baby Girl would feel about this off the shoulder look. When I first tried it on her, she tried to pull the sleeves up onto her shoulders a couple of times. Then I told her they were not supposed to go on her shoulders. She gave me a funny look, I became a bit concerned, then she never mentioned it again.
In fact, I can tell how much she loves a pattern after we are finished taking pictures. If she asks me to change back into her other clothes, I know it is not exactly her favorite. However, this time, she insisted she did not want to take it off. We were heading to a Memorial Day party full of water fun. I tried to change Baby Girl into her swimsuit with no luck. She wanted to wear her new Summer Love top, so she did. She did eventually change into her swimsuit at the party, but only because she did not want to get her new princess top ruined.
Baby Girl picked out the fabric. We found it at Walmart. I think it was listed for $2 a yard, however it rang up for only .50 a yard! What a deal. I will warn you though, the fabric frays super super easy! I would suggest finishing the edges with a serger or sewing machine before sewing it together, especially when gathering the ruffle.
