Baby Girl and I are extremely excited for the new Tropical Getaway Girls Swimsuit sewing pattern by Ellie and Mac. Poor Baby Girl has still been sporting her Giraffe Swimsuit I made here over a year ago. She loves it, but it is well worn. We swim all the time. Either in our own pool, the one at gym, the lake and a couple trips to the beach each year. Let us just say her current swimsuit is well worn.

The Tropical Getaway Swimsuit sewing pattern was fairly simple to sew together. The instructions were very thorough and easy to understand. The sizing also worked well.
Baby Girl wants to be an astronaut and a surfer! Quite the combo, huh? Unfortunately we live very far from the ocean, so surfing is not much of an option here. I have always felt, I should live near the ocean, in warm weather all year round. I despise winter. Even after living in 3 different countries, I still have never lived near the ocean. Why are great jobs hard to find near the water? 🙁 Baby Girl is my adventurous child and I am positive she would love to live near the ocean as well.
More than she loves the water, Baby Girl loves pink. My Father, says she is more obsessed with pink than I was when I was a child. LOL! She is very much my child. I bought this pink swim knit fabric from Simply by Ti. You can find it here. Isn’t it gorgeous? It is a nice light pink, perfect for Baby Girl. I may have even bought extra to possibly make something for myself. Maybe… The pink swim knit fabric was much easier to work with than I expected.
I wanted to add some fun to the front bodice of Baby Girl’s rash guard, so I decided to try some HTV. Honestly, I am not sure how it will hold up in the pool, especially as much as we swim. This time, I decided to try a different type of HTV, as I thought I might have a better chance of it sticking. The Cricut Sportflex HTV is supposed to have a stronger bond, so I thought I would put it through a test. You can find the Cricut Sportflex HTV here in several colors. Since I just added the HTV with my Cricut Easy Press this morning, I will give it a day or two, before I let her get in the water with it. I will update this post, once she tries it out.
Nana bought Baby Girl a pink flamingo pool float and she is in love. I gave Baby Girl the option of this awesome Surf Board SVG or this Flamingo Heart SVG and, as you can see, she chose the flamingo design. A simple design with only one color is what I needed. I wanted to keep it simple since it was a test and I also only had one color of the the Circut Sportflex HTV. I really, really hope it stays on.
Now run off and grab the Tropical Getaway Swimsuit swing pattern here for only $1 before the deal is over!!
