For my stop on the Turning the Page, Sewing for the Changing Seasons Blog Tour by Rebecca Page I have decided to sew the Pippa Pants Yoga Pants Sewing Pattern in multiple types of fabrics.  Ever since I made my Green Glitter French Terry Pippa Pants, I have been wanting to write a blog post on they would look in different fabric types.  Then it got warmer and I was more focused on summer sewing.  However, now that the seasons are once again changing, I am once again turning my focus to fall and winter sewing.

I have tried a few yoga pants sewing patterns, however the Pippa Pants are my favorite.  Not are only do they look great while feeling comfortable, they are super quick to sew.  They come in Womens, Girls, Dolls or bundled all together.  Go grab the sewing patterns here! Since, I am only 5’0″, I did take a few inches off throughout the sewing pattern.

Let’s start with the pair I made in my past blog post in Green Glitter French Terry.

The Green Glitter French Terry fabric is from Simply by Ti Fabrics and you may find it here.  Although this Pippa Pants Yoga Pants Sewing Pattern is great in multiple types of fabrics, I feel it was designed for French Terry.  The fit is superb and very flattering. I used black double brushed polyester fabric for the waistband.

Next up, is my actual first pair I ever made.  They were my trial pair to see the fit and length were correct.

These Pippa Pants Yoga Pants Sewing Pattern were made in Gray Distressed Fabric.  I bought this fabric from a company that is no longer selling fabric anymore. This pair of pants are not actually hemmed, as I have since added some length to my shortened pattern.  Originally, I did not leave enough room for a hem.  These particular pants have been often.  They have handled very well being washed and dried as normal.

If you follow my blog, I tend to go for more solid colors, however I decided to go a little out of my comfort zone with these double brushed polyester Pippa Pants.

How fun is this Wine Ombre Fabric Double Brushed Polyester from Simply By Ti fabrics??  You may find it here. Do you remember Baby Girl wearing her own Portia Party Dress in the same fabric here? The DBP is another win with the Pippa Pants Yoga Pants Sewing Pattern.  The fit is great and the fabric smooths the body features well.

Another great favorite for the Pippa Pants is Cotton Lycra.

I apologize for the wrinkles, I had to pack all these pants and thought I had more time to press them, as were away from home.  I could not find the ironing board at the place we were staying, so I folded up a towel.  This gorgeous fabric is also from Simply By Ti Fabrics.  This purple Cotton Lycra can be found here.  The fit worked well with this fabric as well.

Now the next fabric, I was positive I was not going to like it for the Pippa Pants.

I delighted to announce I am pleasantly surprised that I actually love them.  This is a stunning royal Cobalt Rayon Spandex from, of course, Simply by Ti.  You may find it here.  I did not think I would like the way the rayon spandex would drape.  However, it feels like wearing air, it is so comfy!!  Now the only drawback is the fabric does not do any “smoothing.”  I should have picked better undergarments for these pants, however I wanted to keep everything consistent to show the differences.

As many of my followers know, I have lost over 30 lbs this last year, but I having a hard time losing my mid section.  You can see in the above photo where my undies are causing some muffin top action.  Luckily this area will be covered with a shirt anyways. 😉

Next up, is another favorite fabric!

The pink stretch velvet fabric is so soft!!!  You may find it here.  Since, this fabric was not a 4way 50% stretch fabric, I was a little concerned about the length.  I left the pattern as is to see the difference.  I did have to do a smaller hem, however not by a whole lot.

My next pair are a little fancy.

Yes, fancy yoga pants!!  I made these amazing Pippa Pants Yoga Pants Sewing Pattern in Black and Gold Glitter Ponte fabric, once again from Simply By Ti fabrics.  You may find it here.  This one again does not have 4 way 50% stretch, however I did add some more length to this one. They look in this picture on purpose. I believe I will most likely wear these sparkly pants with heels.  Yes, heels!!  They resemble dressier pants to me.  As I mentioned above, I am away from home at the lake and I did not bring any heels with me to the lake…

Now onto to my FAVORITE pair of Pippa Pants I made for this blog post!
