As mentioned above, the fabric is a sneak peek of some of the fabrics available in October’s Modern Makers Fabric Box by Cotton Cuts.  Anna Maria Horner is the featured designer this month with her lovely Passion Flower Fabric Collection.  Baby Girl, as I am sure anyone who follows my blog knows, loves the pink butterflies!  I told her I was making her a butterfly dress and the first question she asked was if there were any pink butterflies.  Love this girl!

Learning to Gather with a Serger
Learning to Gather with a Serger

Also, one quick question.  My sewing machine and I were having a disagreement while making the Sierra dress.  I think it is about time, she goes in for a little service.  So, I taught myself how to gather with my serger!  Yes, my serger.  I had heard people rave about it before, however I admit, I was a bit scared.  I am not sure why I waited so long.  It was so easy!!   I am NEVER EVER going back!  So, my question is…  Would you like me to make a video tutorial on how to show you to gather with a serger?  I am been toying with adding some sewing videos, but I just need some encouragement to do so.  Let me know in the comments below!

About Seams Sew Lo 147 Articles
Hi I'm Lo and I love to sew and I also love to play with my two children! I am a work at home Mom of two toddlers.  I never planned on staying home with the kids, however when I was 8 and 1/2 months pregnant with my first child, Little Dude, I was unexpectedly let go from my corporate job.  With a newborn and a tough job market, I decided to buy a Brother Sewing/Embroidery Machine and taught myself to sew. I would like to thank the many bloggers, youtube videos I have watched and PDF pattern designers for all their help. With a degree in International Business from Blaise-Pascal University in France I decided to open my own business, an Etsy shop.  I started making baby leg warmers and then added embroidered bodysuits.  I was so busy I couldn't keep up and had to seek out third party help. After my second child, Baby Girl, life became super busy.  There is something about little girls clothes that makes them so much fun to create.  I started venturing out to more articles of clothing.  It has been a fun adventure. I am learning as I go.  I sometimes skip steps or take short cuts, sometimes I take a long road to get where I need to go.  I don't think sewing needs to be perfect, I think it should be fun!!
