It my turn on the August Sewing By Ti Blog Tour!  This months theme is My Favorite Things! If you are a follower of my blog, by now you know one of my favorite things is Mommy and Me Matching outfits.  Let me show you how easy it is to put together a few items for a Mommy and Me fall capsule.  Baby Girl and I live in leggings  in the cooler months. In fact, when it turned warmer this year, I had a hard time convincing Baby Girl to wear shorts.  All she wanted to wear was leggings. In a few months she will have what her heart (and mine) desires.  Leggings Season!!!  (If you do not want to make your own Mommy and Me leggings, you can purchase them from my shop Giggle Poo).

Mommy and Me Matching Outfits, peach addition

Peach!  Oh how I love Peach.  I feel its a very underrated color.  I was very excited when So Sew English sent me this peach fabric.   It matches so many of baby girl’s and my leggings.  I apologize for the wrinkles.  I just got back from vacation and some of these I had to pull out of the suitcase for pictures.  In this picture the gray top is a Pumpkin Spice Dolman and the adult peach top is  Free Spirit Tank with Layer Me Up Sleeves.  Baby girl’s peach top is the Spice cake pattern and the adult leggings are the free Peg Legs pattern, all from Patterns for Pirates.  The child leggings are the Bonnie Legs pattern by their sister company (literally sisters) Made for Mermaids.

Pink is another favorite color in our house!  I made this pink Free Spirit tank top with lace Layer Me Up Sleeves to match my daughter’s Heart breaker Lace Overlay Cami (check out my quick tutorial on how to do a lace overlay).   She also had some ruffled Bonnie leggings with matching lace to our tops. I made the blue Free Spirit Tank for work outs.  It matches our princess leggings well.  Pink shorts are the biker short option of the Peg Leg pattern.  I made them with the yoga band.  I like to wear them under my workout shorts or under dresses.  You never know when Baby Girl may try to lift up my dress.  LOL!  They also help keep my belly in.

Mommy and Me matching outfits

Here are my darker colors.  I have a few black tops.  I am only showing one here, it is another Free Spirit Tank with Black Lace Layer Me up Sleeves.  It is my go to pattern for shirts with leggings.  Baby Girl’s tops are again the Spice Cake Pattern in short and long sleeves.  We have some many different options to choose from this fall.  I still need to make a few more tops and some cardigans.  Then we will be all set for fall.
