Baby Girl loves all the gorgeous pink fabric!  The fabric panel is on a pink gingham background the skirt even has the inspired Strawberry Shortcake dressed as a princess.  For the bottom skirt I used some some fuchsia double brushed polyester from Simply by Ti Fabrics.  You may find it here. It matched perfectly with the It’s Sew Creative Fabric.

Baby Girl requested another Girls Daisy Dress Sewing Pattern by Petite Stitchery (here), however I needed to hack the sewing pattern to make it work.  The front bodice of the Daisy Dress Sewing Pattern was a little shorter than I needed for the fabric panel, so I took some tracing paper (here) and lengthened the bodice to cover the full fabric panel.   I added the same amount of length to the back bodice.

I debated at this point, if I should shorten the skirt, or possibly just used the top skirt. However, I chose to leave the skirts the same length.  At first, I was disappointed I had not shortened the skirts or eliminated the bottom skirt. Baby Girl absolutely loved the dress, so I did not make any more changes.

It’s Sew Creative also has some green and white striped fabric to coordinate with the fabric panel and fabric.  They will be perfect for tights, however the dress would be too long to see them.  So, fortunately I have some fabric left over and plan on making her another ballet leotard.  So excited.

It was not until I started editing the photos, that I started to fall in love with the dress.  When I was a little girl, I absolutely LOVED long dresses.  Most of the neighbors in my neighborhood growing up were boys.  I was (still am) a girly girl.  There are many photos of me playing softball in our backyard with all the neighbor boys in my long dresses.  Baby Girl does not have a lot of long dresses and after this dress, I think she is going to have quite a few more!

Baby Girl can still run, play, climb, swing, slide and twirl in her new dress.  She refused to wear it to school.  Originally, I thought she did not like the dress, however she later told me it was because she was afraid she would get her dirty.  She is so sweet.

So grab some of the Round 39 It’s Sew Creative Fabric here and the Daisy Dress Sewing Pattern from Petite Stitchery here!
